FAQ

What You Need To Know

  • Thanks to our amazing sponsors, this event is FREE for everyone to attend. You do however have to Register.

  • All information about registering can be found here. Just select the registration process that applies to you.

  • This event is open to all ages, but minors (under 18) must be registered and accompanied by a guardian. If you are a high school student, please direct your "coolest teachers" to the High School Group Registration Form.

  • We are fortunate to have amazing sponsorships through our partners Precision Planting, Rivian, and Cybernautic. We do, however, have opportunity to do even greater things for students attending if you're intersted in partnering up. Learn more here.

  • Indoor event, and the roof doesn't leak...we checked. However, if you are participating in the Campus Tour, we suggest you dress appropriately for weather.

  • Come as you are, but offensive/profane clothing is not allowed...and there are better ways to be "noticed and special" ... such as becoming an epic engineer. If you are participating in the Campus Tour, we suggest you dress appropriately for the weather.

  • If you are attending with a high school group, we are offering a Campus Tour with a Complimentary Lunch. Make sure your STEM Lead registers your group to participate in this tour in order to get a meal. Note: Campus Tours are currently filled / we are accepting a waiting list.

Bone Student Center has many restaurant options you can view here.

There are also several restaurants within walking distance of campus and the BuildersSTAGE event.

Food and beverage are not allowed in the auditorium. Only water bottles are allowed.

  • There are a few times to note:

    • If you are participating in the Campus Tour with Complimentary Lunch, we ask that you arrive at Bone Student Center to check-in no later than 9:30 am on the day of the event (Wed, Oct 30). Campus tours will start at 10:00 am, and lunch will be served at approximately 11:00 am in the Watterson Dining Commons on campus (10 minute walk from Braden Auditorium).

Note: Campus Tours are currently filled / we are accepting a waiting list.

    • Doors for the event open at 12:15 pm. Doors for Press / Media open at Noon.

    • The event begins at 1:00 pm, and will conclude at 3:00 pm.

  • The Meet & Greet VIP Reception is for sponsor employees only. Location and details will be emailed to registered employees closer to the event.

If you are really interested in joining the Meet & Greet VIP Reception, consider becoming a Sponsor.

  • Recording with personal devices such as phones, cameras, and tablets is strictly prohibited. We have worked hard to put together an immersive program with our YouTube Creator guests, and they've asked for the courtesy to not live through your phone ... don't be that person, be in the moment.

We will be producing a mastered recording of the program, which will be accessible by end of year (2024) on the university's website.

  • Bone Student Center has parking on the north side of the facility.

If your group is arriving by bus, please make sure you register your group, so we can provide bus passes and priority parking ... and we have a special "Drivers Appreciation Package" for bus drivers. Buses will drop off in the West circle drive of Bone Student Center at 100 N University St, Normal IL 61761. Buses and anything larger than a 15-passenger van have free parking in the S103 Parking Lot at the Office of Parking and Transportation, at 709 N Main St, Normal IL 61761.
